Maiya Petit,earned her first NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor after a career performance in a win over Trinity College of Florida.

Petit set a University of Fort Lauderdale single game scoring record with 46 points on 14-of-25 shooting.

The sophomore from Tampa, Florida, consistently got to the free throw line, hitting 14-of-18 attempts to secure the school record of 46 points.

 Petit added 11 rebounds to record a double-double in the game and was great defensively with six steals.

Head Coach, Alberto Jemperrie, said of his guards performance.

"From the start of this season, Maiya has been our most consistent performers.

To see her explode for a 46-point performance was an amazing accomplishment

It's a testament to her tireless hard work and dedication both on and off the court.

Congrats to Maiya this award was well deserved."
