AMELIA GATSON.... THE REBOUNDING QUEEN

Rebounding Queen Amelia Gatson

Freshman Ameilia Gatson has become a rebounding machine for the University of Fort Lauderdale women's basketball team. In 2 of her last 3 games she has had 15 and 19 rebounds in a game.

Her hard work is paying off. She is ranked 3rd in the NCCAA averaging 9.8 rebounds per contest. The Improvement of  Gatson from the start of the season until now has been monumental.

Coach Alberto Jemperrie said of his freshman center"  This is an outstanding accomplishment for a young lady who fought her way for playing time early on in the season.She has committed herself to being one of the best post players in out program.
With hard work and determination this off season, she will become an elite post players. 


Gatson said, "I believe in myself, it starts with your mind first. I want to be the best and I want to keep growing on and off the court. My mom always said, quitters never win and winners never quit. I refuse to quit and I want to keep working hard and being the best player I can be for this team. I am very excited for the south regional tournament and the off-season."

The Eagles Center is averaging 9 points per game and 9.8 rebounds and has really dominated the glass the second half of the year. 

The future is bright for #55. 

The Eagles will face off against Florida Memorial on Feb.16th
