William (Billy) Glessner is entering his fourth year of coaching at the University of Ft. Lauderdale, where he took over the baseball program in 2021. He also serves as the assistant athletic director and compliance officer and became the head softball coach in 2022. Glessner has built both the baseball and softball programs from the ground up, achieving remarkable success as both teams have consistently ranked among the best in their respective divisions. He holds a 108-66 overall record in baseball and has led the baseball team to a top-ten ranking at the World Series every year since he took over.

In their first full year at UFTL, during the program's initial campaign, Glessner helped lead the Eagles to a #1 seed in the NCCAA South Region Tournament and an appearance at the NCCAA World Series, where they finished second. The Eagles set the bar high, ending their inaugural season as the #3 ranked program in the NCCAA baseball final coaches poll.

In year two, Glessner guided the Eagles to their first NCCAA South Region Championship and their second consecutive trip to the NCCAA World Series, finishing the season with a #5 NCCAA National Ranking.

Year three saw the Eagles compile a 38-12 regular season campaign, earning a berth to their third straight NCCAA World Series appearance. During this season, the Eagles spent a significant portion of the time ranked #1 in the NCCAA National Coaches Poll.

Glessner has earned South Region Baseball Coach of the Year honors in both 2023 and 2024, developing multiple NCCAA All-Americans, Scholar-Athletes, and All-South Region recipients along the way.

As head softball coach, Glessner led the team to a remarkable fourth-place finish at the World Series in 2024, earning him the South Region Softball Coach of the Year award. Under his guidance, the softball program has also flourished, consistently achieving high rankings and demonstrating strong performances in both regional and national competitions.

Prior to joining the University of Ft. Lauderdale, Glessner served as the head baseball coach at Pinellas Park High School, where he was recognized as the 2021 6A Coach of the Year for his exceptional leadership and success on the field.

Glessner began his college playing career at East Florida State University, where he batted .419, earning the sixth-best batting average in Florida for junior college that year. He continued his career at Southeastern University, achieving a .360 batting average, 58 stolen bases, and team MVP honors.

Glessner holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education from Southeastern University.
