Jerry McNeil comes to the University of Fort Lauderdale from serving as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at his Alma Mater, Miami Jackson Senior High School.
Before that, McNeil, was an assistant coach for 10 years at many of the high schools in the Miami, Florida area.
During the summer months as an assistant high school coach, McNeil serve as The Head Men’s Basketball Coach for 5 years for the City of Miami Police Law Enforcement Team. During 4 of the 5 years, those teams coached by McNeil played in the medal rounds of the Law Enforcement Olympic Tournament Brackets.
McNeil, collegiate basketball career started at the University of Southwestern Louisiana; Now renamed the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Also, McNeil had a brief stint at Jacksonville University before closing out his collegiate career at Saint Thomas University, in Miami
Florida.
McNeil, has experience playing in the National Basketball Association, Los Angeles Lakers Summer League. / Dallas Mavericks free agent bracket. McNeil also played professionally in Europe (Ireland, Tralee) and South America (Paraguay, Asuncion)
McNeil, coaching approach for the basketball athletes at UFTL is to reinforce their fundamental skills daily, so they can compete at a high level in Head Coach Anthony Anderson offensive and defensive system.
