The University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles baseball program is proud to welcome Cam Gross as its newest Assistant Coach. Gross joins the Eagles with a diverse coaching pedigree and a proven track record of maximizing player development and offensive production.
Record-Breaking Collegiate Success:
Gross comes to UFTL after an impactful stint at IU Columbus. During his tenure, he helped guide the program to historic heights, setting school records for overall wins and conference victories while rewriting multiple offensive milestones. Prior to his time at IU Columbus, Gross excelled as the hitting coach at Westminster College (Fulton, MO) and Inspiration Academy Post Grad (Bradenton, FL), where he similarly led the team to a new single-season wins record.
Elite Summer League Pedigree
A highly respected leader in collegiate summer baseball, Gross currently serves as the Field Manager for the Danville Dans of the Prospect League. Under his guidance, the 2026 club captured the best record in the Eastern Conference. His summer ball resume also features a successful stint as Head Coach of the Tampa Blaze in the Florida Gulf Coast League, where he directed the program to a Regular Season Championship.
Strong Foundations in Grassroots Baseball
Gross laid the groundwork for his career at the high school and elite travel ball levels. He served on the coaching staffs at Carmel High School and Pike High School, and contributed significantly to premier travel organizations Indiana Nitro and Canes Midwest. Throughout these roles, he built a reputation for forging deep connections with student-athletes and fostering highly competitive, growth-oriented team cultures.
Background and Philosophy
As a player, Gross was a standout collegiate outfielder, beginning his journey at Ivy Tech Community College before concluding his playing career at Indiana University South Bend. He graduated from IUSB with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
Gross brings a passionate, player-first mentality, elite offensive expertise, and a holistic commitment to developing student-athletes both on the diamond and in the classroom. His well-rounded perspective will be an invaluable asset as UFTL baseball builds toward a championship future.
