The University of Fort Lauderdale Men's basketball team led 55-44 at halftime before defeating Florida National University team, 100-86
The Eagles shot 65% from the floor in the 1st half and 70% from three in the first 20 minutes.Â
FNU came out of half time and cut the lead to two points before the bench for UFTL came alive and increased the lead to 10 points with 9 minutes left.Â
- Corey Pope continues to do a great job playing the point forward position. He had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.Â
- Freddy Reeves scored 29 points off the bench including 6 for 6 from the free throw line.Â
- Adrian Body II only had 3 points but he played his most complete game of the season. He is the ultimate "stat-stuffer" and had 5 steals, 9 assists and 7 rebounds.
- Chris Berry has really developed his mid-range game and scored 12 points and dished out 4 assist.Â
- George Lee had 7 points, 3 steals and 5 rebounds.
- Vugar Kuliev had 12 points and 4 assists off the bench.
- Arvin Shirali was 4 for 4 from 3-point range and had 12 points in 8 minutes.
- The play of the game came when Jayven Cofer blocked a breakaway dunk from power forward,Houston Culpepper. Cofer met him at the rim and denied the dunk. Jayven also had 6 assists, 4 steals and 2 points.
This was a complete team effort.The Eagles gave up good shots for great shots and played their most unselfish game of the season.
