Makenzi Heaton Helps #3 Ranked UFTL Softball Sweep FNU

The # 3 Ranked UFTL Women's Softball Team swept Florida National University, (5-1 and 8-1) as they improved to 27-11 on the year. 


Game 1...5-1 Victory
  • Alexia Geary hit a solo home run and pitched 7 complete innings, striking out 4 and allowing 1 run. She improved her record  to 24-10 on the season. 
  • Makenzi Heaton hit and 2 run home run to secure the victory. 
  • Katie Adkins will be sore tomorrow. She was hit by a pitch 2x's in the opener. 
  • Cam Rollison had an RBI single and was hit by a pitch as well.
Game 2... 8-1 Victory
  • Alyssa Dragovich was masterful in her start. She pitched 7 complete innings, only allowed 1 run, and picked up her 3rd win on the year.
  • Geary had a triple, a double and drove in 2 runs. 
  • Heaton had 3 hits including her 2nd home run on the day.
  • Kaitlyn Nieves, Alexis Strahlman, Katie Adkins and Kaylee Wilt all had RBI's.

Kaylee Pitman continues to be a rock behind the plate. She caught all 14 innings in the sweltering heat. 

The Eagles will be tested again on April 2nd as they play a Saint Thomas team that has a 31-4 record.
