Dr. Brian Hankerson

Brian Hankerson a native of Miami Florida received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Florida, a master’s degree in taxation from Florida International University, and was awarded a PhD in Accounting from Capella University. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Price Waterhouse, the world’s largest and most prestigious public accounting firm. Currently he is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for The Faith Center as well as Vice President of Finance and faculty member at UFTL. He and his wife Tina are Ordained Pastors at TFC and in their 40 years of marriage, were blessed with 4 children and 12 grandchildren.  Brian’s drive to excel in his professional career also drove him at the age of 45 to begin competing in masters track and field.  Now at the age of 62, he is one of the most decorated and revered track and field athletes in the world.  He has competed in track meets throughout America and around the world.  He competes in the sprints, the long jump, high jump, and triple jump.  Most recently he has competed in combine events such as the Decathlon which requires competing in 10 different disciplines over a two-day period.  He has won more than 30 National Titles, 25 State Titles and 4 World Titles.  He holds the USATF indoor and outdoor American record in the long jump and the outdoor American record in the high jump.  He also holds National records in the long jump, high jump, and triple jump for the Senior Games in three different age groups.  He has been featured in numerous magazine articles, podcast, blogs, and on the Channel 6 News.  He is currently ranked number 1 in the world in the long jump and the high jump.  He has earned All American status in 8 events.  He was named the Humana Game Changer, USATF Athlete of the Year twice, Florida Sports Athlete of the Year, and the 2021 USATF Combine Athlete of The Year.  He will be competing in Finland this summer as he represents the United States in the World Masters Athletics Championships where he hopes to set a new world record in the long jump and the high jump.  And in case you were wondering, he currently long jumps over 19 feet, and high jumps 5 feet 9 inches.  If asked why he works so hard to compete at such a high level, he simply says, “God has given me such a unique talent and gift; how can I just sit on it and not maximize that gift?  With God, through perseverance and hard work, anything is possible.  And in everything you do, you should always go for the gold.”  Brian Hankerson is our very own TFC Olympian.
