David Walker is a seasoned football coach with a proven record of success at both the collegiate and high school levels. Currently serving as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator at the University of Ft. Lauderdale, David utilizes his extensive coaching experience to create game plans, manage depth charts, and assess team strengths and weaknesses. His leadership and strategic vision ensure smooth program execution, while his mentoring of players and staff fosters a positive, productive team environment.
From 2019 to 2022, David served as the Assistant Head Football Coach and Offensive Line Coach at Stranahan High School, where he was instrumental in player development, game planning, and community involvement. He played a key role in guiding the coaching staff, building strong relationships with booster clubs and local organizations, and maintaining open communication with school officials to support the program's success.
David is also the founder of Step to the Line Athletics, a venture he has led since 2016. Through this initiative, he organizes skill development sessions, designs customized training programs, and focuses on safety and physical conditioning to help athletes reach their full potential. His emphasis on position-specific skills and the fundamental of football ensures that players receive high-quality, tailored instruction.
In 2013, David served as an Offensive Line Consultant for Gains Sports, where he provided mentorship, nutritional guidance, and technical skill development for offensive linemen. His ability to connect with athletes and coaching staff highlights his dedication to player development and team success.
David’s coaching journey began at Stranahan High School, Boyd Anderson High School, and Plantation High School, where he contributed to the success and growth of these programs. At Plantation High, he also served as Run Game Coordinator, further showcasing his expertise in offensive strategy.
As a former player, David played offensive guard for the University of Iowa from 2002 to 2005 and continued his career with the South Georgia Wildcats in Arena Football from 2007 to 2009. His experience as a player provides valuable insights into the game’s demands, which he now shares with his players.
David has coached several athletes who have gone on to play professionally, including Keenan Forbes (Seattle Seahawks), Demetrius Rhaney (St. Louis Rams, retired), and Luke Kessinger (Butler University).
Outside of coaching, David is a devoted family man, married to La-Toya Walker, and the father of two daughters, Nakaliah and Brielle. His commitment to his family, community, and athletes reflects his passion for making a positive impact through coaching.
