5 QUESTIONS WITH HEAD SOFTBALL COACH KYLE DAVIS

By Monte Perez

1) How did you get started coaching softball?

I've always been involved in sports in one way or another. I worked in both MLB and the NHL and had an incredible time while learning so much with the Marlins, Diamondbacks, and Florida Panthers. A friend of mine, Mark DeWalt, introduced me to coaching softball, and I was hooked from day one.

2) What is your proudest coaching moment?

I don't have one single proudest coaching moment. My greatest joy, both on and off the field, is seeing my players take the next step in their journey. Whether it's playing at the next level, graduating, or becoming confident, successful women, watching them grow is what makes coaching so rewarding.

3) What is your favorite comfort food?

I could eat Skyline Chili or La Bamba every day. I also love Polish food—especially Kielbasa and Pierogi.

4) What is your favorite sports movie of all time?

This one's easy: The Sandlot. It takes me back to a simpler time—playing stick ball with my friends all summer and spending every day outside. We'd wake up, eat breakfast, head out around town, come home for lunch, then go right back outside until dinner. The Sandlot reminds me of those unforgettable childhood memories and the love of baseball that has stayed with me ever since.

5) If you could only see one sports team win one more championship for the rest of your life, who would you choose?

Watching the Florida Panthers win back-to-back Stanley Cups was incredible. But if I could only choose one team, it would have to be the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins fans have waited decades for another championship. Seeing the Dolphins hoist the Lombardi Trophy would be a dream come true for me and millions of fans.
