The University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles battled Southeastern University on Saturday at Broward High School.
The Eagles were trailing 7-0 early in the first quarter before
DeRohn King hit
Urique Wilson for a 68-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7.
UFTL was trailing 13-7 at halftime before a weather delay stopped the game for over 2.5 hours.Â
The Eagles lost the game 40-7, but the score was not an accurate reflection of how competitive this game was.Â
Coach
Damon Cogdell said,
"I was happy with our young players and freshmen. They played very hard and gave it their all. I would have liked to have played the week before so our guys would have competed for four quarters. Unfortunately, lightning kept us from playing against Warner. We will use this game against Southeastern as a learning tool and hopefully grow from this. We play Saint Thomas this week on the road, and they are ranked #5 in the NAIA."
Some stats vs the Fire:
The Eagles had no turnovers.
The University of Fort Lauderdale Football Team will travel to Saint Thomas on 9-6-2025.Â
The game will start at 12 PM at AutoNation Field.Â
