The University of Fort Lauderdale Football team started its game on Saturday very sluggish. They had a fumble on the opening kickoff, a few false start penalties, and missed assignments. Head Coach
Damon Cogdell called a timeout immediately and woke his team up. Two plays after the stern talking-to,
DeRohn King hit
Cole Cross for a 60-yard touchdown pass. The Eagles took the lead,7-0, and never looked back. They dominated from start to finish, defeating Russ Collegiate, 35-0.
- King had two touchdown passes, and Coden Brown had another TD strike.Â
- Julius Finnerson and Demarkus Everett each had a touchdown run, and the Eagles averaged 5.3 yards per carry.
- Jimel Cofer Jr. and Loriston Davidson caught touchdown passes as well.
The Eagles defense gave up 63 yards of total offense and pitched a shutout. They have allowed 6 points in their last two home games.Â
- Dante DeSantis and Jason Brown had 2 sacks each.
- Josh Curry and Nathan Arias and Shevoun Minott had sacks as well.
- Justice Johnson, Jaquez Holloway and Mahki Bragg only gave up two completions on the day. They continue to stifle opposing wide receivers.
This was an impressive performance from start to finish and a total team effort.
The Eagles look to win their 3rd straight on Saturday as they play their homecoming game at South Broward High School.
